About Us

The Primo Foundation provides financial and other assistance to families in four key areas: Health Care, Food Sustainability, Education and Healthy Housing to alleviate emergency situations and to develop a plan for the family to achieve a sustainable and prosperous future. In addition, we partner with other non-profit organizations in the community to provide essential programs that help children and families in the key areas.

Community Building Institute

One of the Primo Foundation’s key partners is the Community Building Institute of Middletown (CBI) through our Non Profit Program Support. The partnership between CBI and the Primo Foundation includes sponsorship and support of CBI’s annual Turkey Trot held the second Saturday in November each year and additional financial support of their out-of-school educational programs.

CBI is passionate about seeing Middletown transform one child, one family, and one neighborhood at a time. Our goals for Middletown are to see children adequately prepared to enter kindergarten, students reading on grade level by the third grade, the youth set up for success post-graduation through college and career preparedness, and families in poverty move to self-sufficiency. By helping families at every generational level, we affect the community as a whole through sustainable programs that revitalize the Middletown area.

Abilities First

Abilities First (www.abilitiesfirst.org) serves children with Autism and differing abilities in Middletown, Butler County and the surrounding region.  We have been serving for over 66 years and are proud to offer 4 Key Programs:

Early Childhood Learning Center – Our childcare center is “Gold” rated by Step Up To Quality and designated as an inclusive childcare center because we serve both typically developing children and differently abled children together in the same classes.  We serve children 6 weeks – 10 years old and we are approved to take ODJFS Vouchers.

Autism Learning Center – Our Autism Learning Center is an ODE approved school for children PreSchool through 2nd grade who have been diagnoses with Autism Spectrum Disorder and have an IEP/ETR from their school district.  Students in our school qualify for the Ohio Autism Scholarship so tuition is completely covered.  We also offer a summer program providing year round continuity for our students.

Pediatric Therapies – We offer OT, PT and Speech Therapy to all of the students in our programs and in the community.  Our amazing team of professional therapists work with our children toward their goals in a fun, positive and motivating environment. We offer both individual and group therapy, including adaptive Yoga. We serve children birth through 25.

Success Team – Our Success Team is there to “fill in the gaps”.  They serve families who:

  • May be struggling with difficult paperwork and application processes.

  • Need a referral to an outside agency.

  • Looking for support and resources

  • Just might need someone to talk with.
